Mr. Tarbu Sherpa is a well known Sherpa Language expert from the Sikkim state. His roles as an Assistant Director and Sub Editor at "Sherpa Herald", a daily newspaper published by the IPR Department, Government of Sikkim, reflect his dedication to the linguistic and cultural heritage of the Sherpa community.

For over 23 years, the continuous publication of the Sherpa Language Sikkim Herald under his guidance underscores his commitment to keeping the language alive and vibrant. His efforts in writing, translation, and editing have played a crucial role in maintaining the richness of the Sherpa language. Mr. Tarbu Sherpa's impact goes beyond the written word, as he has actively supported language learners, especially those who have traveled from remote villages to Gangtok for higher studies. By guiding and mentoring youngsters, he has contributed to the growth and development of Sherpa language skills among the new generation.

The recognition and felicitation by DSA on the 13th International Day of Everest on May 29, 2019, at Kupup, East Sikkim, speak volumes about the significance of his work.
