Mr. Passang Dorjee Sherpa is an Assistant Text Book Officer (ATBO) at Department of Languages, Education Department, Government of Sikkim. He is an accomplished author of numerous books in Sherpa Language.
To give some contributions to preserve and promote the Sherpa culture, language, traditions he created a page in Facebook Social Site as "We The Sherpas" and started sharing many valuable informations and details of Sherpa Culture, Language, Tradition and other facts. Amidst the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, he played a pivotal role in the preservation and promotion of Sherpa language by providing every possible dose for the aspirant learners of Sherpa Languages. He successfully reached out to a global audience, providing invaluable doses of Sherpa language speaking videos through the social site page. His commitment to adapting teaching methods during such challenging times demonstrates resilience and dedication.
In acknowledgment of his remarkable contributions, the Denzong Sherpa Association took the opportunity to felicitate Mr. Passang Dorjee Sherpa during the annual Losar Fest on 18th March 2021 at Gumbadara, Uttarey, West Sikkim. This recognition underlines his significant impact on the preservation and promotion of Sherpa language and culture.
