The Denzong Sherpa Association successfully organised the "Meri Maati Mera Desh" campaign today at Sherpa Bhawan Site, Lumsay, Gangtok marking a profound tribute to the brave souls who have made supreme sacrifices for our beloved nation. Organized as a culminating event of the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' and in response to appeal by the Government of Sikkim, the campaign garnered enthusiastic participation from the Sherpa community. The National Flag was proudly hoisted by Shri Sangay Sherpa, Chief Patron of Denzong Sherpa Association, amidst the presence of the President, Shri Dorjee Sherpa Pinasa, esteemed Advisors Shri M. T. Sherpa and Shri P. N. Sherpa, along with other Central Executive members and community members. A distinctive highlight of the event was the recitation of the "Paanch Pran" pledge in the SHERPA LANGUAGE. This solemn oath, undertaken by the community members, reverberated with the collective commitment to uphold the values and principles for which the national heroes made their ultimate sacrifice. The Denzong Sherpa community has showcased their unwavering commitment to the nation through the "Meri Maati Mera Desh" campaign, leaving an indelible mark of unity, patriotism, and respect for the country's history. Denzong Sherpa Association has also appealed each and every members of village level Sherpa Kyidugs to join the campaign with whole heartily. By doing so, we collectively uphold the spirit of patriotism and pay tribute to the legacy of those valiant souls who sacrificed their lives for our nation’s freedom. Our resolute involvement will undoubtedly contribute to the resounding success of this campaign.
